MWR
Racers under age 18 Membership
All
racers under the age of 18 MUST have the required ISR
Minor Competition forms on file with MWR.
MWR Membership forms will not be processed unless accompanied
by fully completed Minor Competition Forms.
Competitors
under the age of 18 wanting to race above their designated
class or division must have an approved Advancement
Petition on file with MWR before competing. MWR
members under the age of 18 who competed in the past MWR season
with an approved petition that are not further advancing in
do not need a petition.
In other words, you only need to petition if you wish to advance
beyond where you competed during the previous season…
Birth
Certificates:
All racers under the age of 18 must provide MWR with a notarized
copy of their birth certificate before competing in an MWR
event. Past MWR members should contact MWR
to ensure their birth certificate is on file when
submitting a MWR membership form.
The
youth snocross racing program offered by MWR is run under
the rules and guidelines established by International Snowmobile
Racing (ISR). ISR is a service organization established to
provide its affiliated clubs and associations with the tools
to sanction snowmobile races in an organized and safe manner.
The most important aspect of snowmobile racing is safety,
particularly when today’s youth and tomorrow’s
future are competing on the track.
The
MWR Youth Racing program consists of three divisions: 120cc/4-Stroke
Racing, Junior Novice Racing, and Junior Competition. Each
division has
specific competition and advancement criteria in the MWR Rulebook(link
to
rulebook). It is the responsibility of the parents of children
competing in
MWR events to become familiar with and abide by these rules.
While there
are established procedures in some areas to advance a young
race to another
age group, MWR and ISR encourage parents to allow their children
to grow up
through the system.
Regardless
of the division and class(es) they intend to compete in, the
following information is required from all racers aged 17
or younger entered in MWR-sanctioned events:
1. Notarized copy of your child’s birth certificate,
2. Completed Minor
Competitor's Eligibility Notification Form, and
3. Completed Parental
Consent/Minor's Assumption of Risk Form.

are final.
